The intersection of photography’s temporal element as captured in the frame was referred to by photographer poster art print posters Cartier-Bresson as “the decisive moment. rdquo; Bresson described that there is a certain way of making photographs in which there is “an interrela-tionship of eye, body, and mind that intuitively recognizes the moment in time when the formal and psychological elements within the visual fi eld take on enriched meanings” (Rosenblum, 1984, p. 483). Roman theaters were semicircular, with a tall stage building joined to a semicircular orchestra and tiered seating area. Working together we began with 19th century landscape photographs of the West and made re-photographs from the same locations as the initial starting point for what became an extended form of visual research that combined historical images with scenes from the same location.
